Yes, both things can be true 1) I still love Vela and the Black and Gold; 2) the current roster is not good enough to win anything this year, poor passing, no pressure on the ball, bad finishing, game after game after game. But congratulations to Ilie for his goal!

I agree!!! I still believe Vela is the best thinking player they got on the rooster, I also think the style of play LAFC practice doesn't fit Vela well! I think Bounga needs to adjust and make better decisions and not try to take on 3 or 4 defenders and try to finish every opportunity himself, he draws defenders so why not look for teammate in a better position to score , but but very seldom does that, Opoku is worst in that regard.

Bogusz should start every game and allow him to build his confidence and chemistry with Vela, they both seem to understand the game better and make better decisions to create more offense, I just think having Bounga and Opoku together it becomes very repetitive way of attacking..the front line should be Bouanga , Vela and. Bogusz.

Well as fate would have it Opoku is traded to Montreal. Great guy, great energy, scored some key goals for us, but for some reason did not seem to develop - maybe (probably) that's on the coaches. I agree we need someone (besides Vela) who can provide some service to Bouanga, and soon.

no matter how you framed it or say it, loosing to the Galaxy is not acceptable!! how is it possible that a team that it has been struggling in every shape and form the whole season and the past few seasons like the Galaxy!, is able is to make it real hard for LAFC to win?? I am starting to believe that is all in the Galaxy approach to LAFC, seems to be in their DNA now,no matter what or how but you just can't loose to LAFC!!

Is easy to see how the Galaxy fight and push for every ball and play physical, for galaxy it no may matter the tactics or the rooster , they just don't want to loose to LAFC and is evident.!

also obvious if Bouanga, or Vela don't get their mojo back things won't change much with the current idea of playing or game plan, I am starting to believe the early part of the season success it has a lot more to do with individual's performances! ..they way LAFC is playing now, we might end up empty handed by the of 2023.. Let's hope things change soon..!

I think you sum it up pretty well, I just disagree a bit with the idea that it came down to “who wanted it more”. If anything I feel like in these Galaxy matchups the LAFC players want it too much. The Galaxy are begging teams to give them transition chances. Against teams like Colorado, who sit back, they struggle to generate genuine chances, especially without Chicha. I thought both goals the Galaxy scored were initiated by LAFC players pushing too far forward and losing balance on the pitch. First goal started with Maldonado dribbling recklessly into the Galaxy half, losing the ball and then scrambling to get back. Second goal was a result of LAFC pushing for the winning goal rather than maintaining balance. On both plays Dueñas immaturity was exploited by the Galaxy. And the last thing I would say about Dueñas is that he fails to give maximum effort.

I also agree that Cifu coming in helped LAFC tremendously in the second half. Granted he does make mistakes that drive me crazy (those failed through balls at the end of the game), but I think us fans take for granted how well he presses and the space he covers when on the pitch. Love Tillman’s technical skills, but I feel like he likes the same urgency. It’s the reason why I see Bogusz as Cifu’s replacement not Tillman.

I might sound negative but some of the struggles have come from the decision being made from the sidelines.. Too many rotations have put the team completely out sync! at this point fatigue should not be a factor anymore, I find it very hard to believe that Cherondulo has to resource or believe Dueñas can be a defender?? really?? Last week he did the same with Ilie, and both times have not work out..! I mean there's got to be a bit of pause and rethink the game plan? because current plan it ain't working anymore..

I was at the Rose Bowl yesterday and that was a proper soccer crowd for any country. Kudos to Carson for putting on a great show (still a bit hacked off that our SGs couldn't bring flags). When talking stuff at post game tailgates, all I could say is some games you have to throw out the records.

We look awful in the final third and have done since the Leon games. Denis is being swamped on defense (a couple of times LAG had FOUR people within five yards of him) and nobody is stepping up to score goals and loosen up the pressure on him right now. Attacks on goal are disorganized and we're putting on a clinic for missed passes and lack of chemistry in the penalty area. Vince, what can Cherundolo and the staff do to get these guys playing together again? Like the kid given a pile of horse poop for their birthday, we know there's an offensive juggernaut in here somewhere.

I think what we are seeing is the power of training/practice. It's a concept we take for granted. But these guys haven't had a chance to really work together in over a month. And that takes a toll on things like attacking connections/sharpness. They have to gut it out for another 10 days. But after that, it's going to be some intense training sessions to get everyone back on the same page.

100% agree with this. Hard to develop patterns of play in the final third when you have limited time training.
